The Sea Mineral collection is made from a proprietary material composed of over 50% marine-derived minerals, drawn from the concentrated brine that is produced as a byproduct of seawater desalination. Previously discharged back into the ocean where it contributed to coral damage and the decline of fishing grounds, that brine is here reclaimed as a primary ingredient. The material was the first of its kind to be realized as food-safe tableware, the result of years of research and development by ARAS.

The thermal conductivity is close to that of ceramic, meaning the pieces retain cold from the refrigerator and warmth from the microwave rather than quickly equalizing to room temperature. The surface of each piece carries a subtle organic variation from the production process, giving the collection a quiet visual depth that differs from piece to piece.
