PORCELAIN POTTERY — CFCL × Hataman Touen
PORCELAIN POTTERY — CFCL × Hataman Touen
The Porcelain Pottery collection brings together Hataman Touen, a kiln with over 350 years of history in Imari Nabeshima ware, and CFCL (Clothing For Contemporary Life). Founded by Yusuke Takahashi, formerly lead designer at Issey Miyake Men, CFCL is a Tokyo-based brand with 3D computer-aided knitting at the core of its practice. CFCL has long drawn a correspondence between knitwear and ceramics, treating both as expressions of form, surface, and material.
Each piece is inspired by the voluminous, three-dimensional silhouette of the Pottery Skirt, a CFCL signature, and crafted from traceable Amakusa porcelain stone. The exterior is finished through blasting to a quiet matte surface. There is no decorative painting, leaving form and color to speak entirely on their own terms.
