Riso Porcelain's Moon Surface Collection takes its name from the glaze, not a concept. The dark finish is achieved through a volcanic ash process at Riso Porcelain, a fourth-generation Arita kiln whose lineage traces back to the mid-Meiji era. The result is a surface that absorbs light rather than reflecting it, giving each piece a depth that shifts depending on the setting. The collection spans flat plates, shallow and deep bowls, and a small pouring vessel, all unified by the same moody, matte finish.
