Kanaguchi
Kanaguchi brings generations of Japanese metalworking expertise to professional plating chopsticks. The company's approach draws from their original specialty: the tekagi, a hand-forged hook used for lifting and moving heavy loads in fishing and cargo work. That tradition of forging tools for strength, balance, and precise control carries through to these kitchen implements, which feel solid, stable, and intentional in hand.
Operating under the Hishi-Kaneka brand name since 1929, Kanaguchi is the only manufacturer in Japan to manage the entire process in-house, from forging the fire-hardened stainless steel tips to shaping the wooden handles. Each pair pairs a forged steel shaft with a hand-finished wood grip engineered for comfort and control during extended use. Built to withstand high heat and daily handling, these plating chopsticks are designed for the delicate work of turning, lifting, and composing dishes with precision, serving both professional kitchens and dedicated home cooks.
