Yosuke Ono 小野 陽介
Born in 1987 in Mashiko, Tochigi Prefecture, in the northern Kantō region of Japan, Yosuke Ono grew up in a family of potters and developed a deep connection to the local clay.
After graduating from Aichi Prefectural Seto Ceramics High School in 2014, Ono returned to Mashiko and began his own practice in 2015 under his father’s guidance. In 2021, he relocated to Ishioka City in Ibaraki Prefecture, where he continues to create ceramics while remaining closely connected to his roots.
Ono strives to express the character of the soil from his birthplace. He shapes cups, bowls, and vases for daily use, allowing the organic nature of Mashiko clay to guide each form. By embracing its subtle irregularities and gentle curves, he brings warmth and quiet honesty to his work, creating pieces that reflect both the material and his own sensibility.
