Description
This free cup features two types of glaze, each mixed with coarse sand as a base, applied with a brush much like painting on a canvas. A layer of black iron glaze is then added on top to create a textured, raised surface. The layering of glazes results in a rich, complex texture. The cup’s versatile size makes it perfect for tea (in Japan), coffee, sake, wine, or just about any drink.
Not dishwasher or microwave safe.
As each piece is handmade, slight variations in color, shape, and size may occur compared to the photographs.

About Yuko Ikeda 池田優子
Yuko Ikeda, a graphic design graduate from Platt College in San Diego, began teaching herself ceramics after returning to Japan. Now based in Osaka, she focuses on solo exhibitions where her work blends fluid, expressive lines with the colors and textures of natural elements. Her creations evoke the essence of abstract paintings that unfold like landscapes, blurring the boundary between functional ceramics and art. Her work is primarily inspired by nature, drawing influence from the sea, shells, flowers, leaves, and snow.
