Rim Mug Crystal Blue
Description
Experience Coffee and Tea Anew
Introducing our "Rim Mug," a product born from a collaborative effort with designer Takaharu Hamano, a visionary in the field of promotions. Our inspiration stemmed from a shared desire to explore the realms of aroma and the comfort of sipping beverages. We sought guidance from experts in coffee and fragrance, including baristas and perfumers, and embarked on a journey of mold development, craftsmanship, glazing, and painting, all under the expert guidance of our dedicated artisans.
Dedicated to Aroma, Mouthfeel, and Comfort
Our Rim Mug is thoughtfully designed to enhance your coffee and tea experience. The body's shape, reminiscent of a "barrel," excels at capturing the rich aroma of your favorite beverages. Conversely, the "trumpet" mouth widens for a harmonious drinking experience.
To balance these seemingly opposing elements, we've created a uniquely thin mouthpiece, exclusive to Hataman Touen. We've also added a touch of "motase" thickness near the mouth, resulting in a groundbreaking design that combines the scent-preserving qualities of a barrel shape with a mouth that gently guides your drink towards your palate.
Furthermore, we've strategically positioned the handle, emphasizing finger grips at the base of the mug, effectively lowering the center of gravity. This ergonomic design reduces the strain on your fingers, even when the mug is filled to the brim, ensuring comfort with every sip.
Experience the future of coffee and tea enjoyment with our Rim Mug.

About Hataman Touen
Founded in 1926 in Okawachiyama, a secluded kiln village in Saga Prefecture, Japan, Hataman Touen carries forward the 370-year legacy of Imari Nabeshima ware. Once known as "The Village of the Secret Kilns," Okawachiyama was the exclusive seat of porcelain production for Japan's feudal lords, the shogunate, and the Imperial Court.
Now in its fifth generation under Shuuji Hataishi, the studio works across a range of expressions: Texture, a minimalist line that elevates food presentation through unique surface techniques; Moist, a matte celadon that is cool and smooth to the touch; and Cuir, whose porcelain surface closely mimics the grain and luster of leather.
Hataman Touen has also collaborated with Nike, New Balance, and MAISON Paris, extending the vocabulary of Nabeshima ware into contemporary design.
