Description
Experience Coffee and Tea Anew
The Rim Mug was created through a collaboration between Hataman Touen and designer Takaharu Hamano. Inspired by a shared focus on aroma and sipping comfort, the design draws on insights from baristas, perfumers, and skilled artisans.
Dedicated to Aroma, Mouthfeel, and Comfort
The mug’s body features a gentle barrel shape that helps capture and hold the aroma of coffee or tea. The flared trumpet rim creates a smooth, balanced drinking experience.
The handle is positioned lower on the mug, with natural finger grips at the base that help lower the center of gravity. This ergonomic placement reduces strain on the fingers, even when the mug is full, and offers a stable, comfortable hold.

Care
- When cleaning, kindly use a gentle, neutral detergent with a soft sponge or similar and hand wash. Avoid vigorous scrubbing with abrasive cleansers or scrubbing brushes as it may scratch the surface.
- Please refrain from using a dishwasher, as the abrasives and bleaching agents in the detergent may cause the painted colors to fade or come off.
- Gold or silver products should not be used in the microwave oven.
- Do not expose any ceramic products to open flames or place them in ovens.
- Please be cautious, as porcelain can be susceptible to damage from strong impacts or sudden temperature changes. Avoid using damaged products, as they may pose safety risks.
- To remove persistent stains like tea stains or hot water scale, use kitchen bleach following the recommended instructions. Be mindful not to use products with gold or silver decorations, as they may cause discoloration

About Hataman Touen 畑萬陶苑
Founded in 1926 in Okawachiyama, a historic kiln village in Saga Prefecture in southern Japan, Hataman Touen carries on the legacy of Imari Nabeshima ware. This porcelain tradition, spanning over 370 years, was once created exclusively for Japan's feudal lords, the shogunate, and the Imperial Court.
Now led by fifth-generation artisan Shuuji Hataishi, the studio is known for its refined overglaze porcelain that bridges traditional craft with contemporary design. Hataman Touen has collaborated with global brands including Nike, New Balance, and MAISON Paris.
