About Yamazaki Flatware
Since 1918, Yamazaki Kinzoku Kogyo has been crafting stainless steel flatware in Tsubame City, Niigata Prefecture, a region globally renowned for its metalworking heritage. Founded by Bungen Yamazaki, the company began with hand-hammered copperware before turning its focus to tableware, a dedication that has spanned over a century.
That commitment has placed Yamazaki's work on some of the world's most distinguished tables. Their flatware has received the Japan Good Design Prize, the "Best of the Best" at Germany's Red Dot Design Award (2013), and additional Red Dot recognition in 2016. In 2023, their YUEN collection was presented as an official gift at the G7 Finance Ministers Meeting in Niigata, and the company was commissioned to create flatware for the Nobel Prize Banquet.
