Koichi Onozawa’s objects embody the dialogue between primitive beauty and contemporary form. Working from his studio in Nakagawa, Tochigi Prefecture, Onozawa shapes vessels and sculptural works that embrace distortion, traces, cracks, and subtle imperfections—expressions of vitality captured in clay.
His use of traditional Japanese materials and methods, influenced by Momoyama-period and Korean ceramics, is balanced with a modern minimalism that feels timeless yet experimental. Each object reflects both chance and intention: surfaces marked by the earth’s raw character, forms refined by hand and fire.
These pieces are not just functional or decorative—they are quiet meditations on nature, time, and connection. In their presence, Onozawa seeks to create resonance at the deepest level, linking people through the shared experience of beauty.
SPECIFICATION | Material: Clay, Urushi (Japanese lacquer), and Natural Finishes. |
DELIVERY | This is a one-of-a-kind piece and will not be restocked once sold out. |
