Description

Il Letterato Saffron Porcelain Candleholder – LCDC Collection by Luca Nichetto for Ginori 1735

Add a thoughtful design statement to your space with Il Letterato (The Scholar) candleholder in rich saffron-toned porcelain from Ginori 1735’s LCDC Collection. This finely crafted totem-like sculpture features the contemplative face of a man topped with a contrasting white headdress that securely holds a scented candle.

A symbol of wisdom, insight, and quiet observation, Il Letterato brings intellectual charm and modern elegance to your home. Pair it with Amber Lagoon scented candles (sold separately), a refreshing fragrance blending grapefruit blossom, fig leaves, lavender, musk, and vetiver—evoking the serenity of a timeless garden walk through imagined landscapes.

Part of La Compagnia di Caterina, this candleholder is one of several sculptural characters designed by Luca Nichetto to honor the legacy of Catherine de’ Medici. Each piece merges the expressive porcelain craftsmanship of Ginori 1735 with a contemporary artistic vision to create collectible objects that tell a story through form and fragrance.

About Ginori 1735

Founded in 1735 by Marquis Carlo Ginori near Florence, Ginori 1735 is one of Europe’s oldest porcelain makers and a symbol of Italian artistry. For nearly three centuries, it has blended meticulous craftsmanship with bold design, creating fine porcelain that bridges heritage and modernity.

Signature collections include Oriente Italiano, where Eastern-inspired motifs meet vibrant Italian colors; Catene, Gio Ponti’s modern take on a classic chain-link pattern; Labirinto, with striking geometric borders; and Il Viaggio di Nettuno, a whimsical marine-themed series by Luke Edward Hall.

Handcrafted in its historic Manifattura in Sesto Fiorentino, Ginori 1735 continues to bring art, beauty, and elegance to the everyday table.
