Description

Il Letterato Pure White Porcelain Candleholder – LCDC Collection by Luca Nichetto for Ginori 1735

Celebrate intellect and elegance with Il Letterato (The Scholar), a refined porcelain candleholder from Ginori 1735’s LCDC Collection designed by Luca Nichetto. Crafted in fine pure white porcelain, this sculptural piece represents wisdom and introspection, depicting a thoughtful face crowned with a cylindrical hat designed to hold a scented candle.

A true symbol of knowledge and observation, Il Letterato brings a quiet sophistication to any space—ideal for shelves, desks, or contemplative corners. Pair it with Black Stone scented candles (sold separately), a bold oriental fragrance inspired by the talisman gifted to Catherine de’ Medici by her court astrologer. Rich in spices and mystery, this scent evokes the spirit of discovery and personal enlightenment.

Part of La Compagnia di Caterina, a collection that reimagines the Renaissance court through modern design, each piece in the series merges Ginori 1735’s sculptural porcelain tradition with contemporary artistic storytelling.

About Ginori 1735

Founded in 1735 by Marquis Carlo Ginori near Florence, Ginori 1735 is one of Europe’s oldest porcelain makers and a symbol of Italian artistry. For nearly three centuries, it has blended meticulous craftsmanship with bold design, creating fine porcelain that bridges heritage and modernity.

Signature collections include Oriente Italiano, where Eastern-inspired motifs meet vibrant Italian colors; Catene, Gio Ponti’s modern take on a classic chain-link pattern; Labirinto, with striking geometric borders; and Il Viaggio di Nettuno, a whimsical marine-themed series by Luke Edward Hall.

Handcrafted in its historic Manifattura in Sesto Fiorentino, Ginori 1735 continues to bring art, beauty, and elegance to the everyday table.
