DETAILS

The Golden Manganese Lotus Plate by Riso Porcelain is a stunning creation inspired by the graceful form of lotus petals and the richness of natural elements. Adorned with a radiant golden glaze infused with hints of manganese, the plate exudes a warm, earthy hue accented by a subtle metallic shimmer. ABOUT Riso Porcelain(李荘窯)

In the late Meiji era, ceramic artist Shinichi Terauchi, the great-grandfather of current Risoan Kiln president Shinji Terauchi, was invited to the Arita region to serve as a mentor at a crafts school. The kiln's name originates from its establishment at the residence of Lee San-pyeong, the founder of Arita ware.

Arita is renowned as one of Japan's leading ceramic centers, and Risoan Kiln is situated on what was once known as "Tokkuri Street," a hub for workshops producing sake bottles, cups, and chopstick rests.

In the wake of Japan's economic growth and bubble era, Shinji Terauchi has devoted himself to creating timeless pottery. Guided by the belief that "beautiful things are eternal," he actively pursues designs that transcend fleeting trends.
