Ceramic Japan
Ceramic Japan
Founded in 1973, Ceramic Japan brings together designers and skilled artisans in Seto, a region with a long history of ceramic production. The studio works closely with designers to develop pieces that are simple, functional, and grounded in Seto’s established craft traditions, while still feeling relevant to contemporary life.
Ceramic Japan’s work focuses on thoughtful design and careful making, resulting in objects intended for everyday use rather than display alone. This approach has earned the studio international recognition, including inclusion in the Museum of Modern Art collection and awards such as the Good Design Award.
