About Shim Sa Young
Shim Sa Young is a Korean ceramist with a background in both ceramics and industrial design. Her practice centers on white porcelain vessels built through slip casting: she applies liquid clay repeatedly over a mold, building up thin, overlapping layers that give her pieces a luminous, delicate quality. The traces of this repetitive process remain visible in the final surface, connecting maker, material, and object in a way that is central to her work.
